UNIBET OPEN – GOLDEN SANDS

Forget for a moment the sparkling blue sea, golden beaches and roasting tourists – think more Eastern European poker epicentre as the Unibet Open tour heads to Bulgaria at the Golden Sands near Varna for its second leg of 2010.

In its first visit to the resort, Unibet Open will be hosting another smorgasbord of poker in the luxurious surroundings of the Grand Hotel Casino International. Boasting the largest poker room in Bulgaria, the Casino provides a glass-walled sea-view backdrop to the action which will take place from the 3rd-6th June.

Legend has it that the resort’s beach is made of sand formed from buried pirate treasure – seems suitable a venue for one of the most anticipated poker tournaments of the year… With regular satellites running online you can qualify for the tournament for next to nothing and compete to win your share of the gold (or lev and stotinki, were you to convert it into the local currency, for use when at the post-match celebration in the resort’s many bars and nightclubs).

Golden Sands might be a new fixture on the Unibet Open calendar, but with such splendid surroundings and a National Park, beaches just round the corner in which to shake off tilt, it’s going to be a popular one, so secure your seat or start on the satellites!
