Day 1a of the Unibet Poker Belgian Championship 2019 is Set to Start at 1 PM!

The Unibet Poker Belgian Championship 2019 kicks-off at 1 pm today, as the bright and breezy seaside location of Casino Blankenberge plays host.

The award-winning championships return to Blankenberge with a rich history and last year’s Main Event title went to one of the nation’s most prized poker players, Christophe De Meulder.

De Meulder, who has $668,634 in recorded live cashes, got the better of compatriot Samir Akhoullou heads-up in 2018 to win the €38,290 top-prize and will return today for Day 1a in a bid to defend his title on home soil.

Also set to make their way to the beach location for some poker action is Unibet ambassadors David Vanderheyden, David Lappin, and Charlotte Van Brabander as well as popular Belgian actor Tom Dingenen, star of the TV series Dertigers, two-time Unibet Open champion Mateusz Moolhuizen, plus former November Niner Pierre Neuville.

The €550 buy-in will see players receive a 50,000 starting chip stack, with the first 45-minute level playing out with blinds at 100-100-100 big blind ante. Late registration will be open until the start of level 8 (approx. 8 pm) with the first day’s action set to conclude at the end of level 12 (approx. Midnight). Players will be allowed two reentries in total throughout the Main Event Day 1s.

Tomorrow (Friday, August 30) will see the final two Main Event starting flights take place with Day 1b (1 pm) and Day 1c Turbo (21:00), which features 20-minute blind levels, playing out before the remaining players return to battle for Day 2 on Saturday, August 31, with a winner crowned on Sunday, September 1.

The Unibet Poker Belgian Championship 2019 will also feature the popular €80 #QUEENRULES (Ladies Event) at 2 pm on Saturday, August 31, a two-day €220 NLH Deepstack (Freezeout), €110 NLH Turbo, and€110 Progressive Super Knockout. Check out the full schedule here.
