Lightbourne & Bread

UO_London_2014_Tambet_Kask_ME_Final_Table-7.jpgIaron Lightbourne’s stack is rising nicely now!

Babis Lappas raised the button, and both Lightbourne in the small blind and Mike Hill in the big made the call. An interesting set of hands:

Lappas: :::Ad :::8s
Lightbourne: :::Kd :::Js
Hill: :::Jh :::9d

And what a flop: :::Jd :::Ts :::9h

A little something for everyone there. Lightbourne with his top pair and gutshot draw bet out what looked like 260k; Hill, with his two pair, raised to 600-odd grand. Lappas looked at his bottom end of the straight draw, and with a look of some regret, passed. They continued heads up to the turn.

Turn: :::Qh

His straight now made, Lightbourne bet out. Over to Hill, who sighed and looked down at the board with four cards to the straight on it, and considered his two pair for a bit before laying it down. The 2 million-plus pot went to Lightbourne, who now has more than half the chips in play in his possession.
