Lightbourne Comes Down Heavy on Short Stacks

With more than twice the chips of the next man, Iaron Lightbourne is now just running over this table. Witness:

Exhibit A:

Mike Hill opened from the hijack with :::Ah :::4s and in the big blind Lightbourne called with an admittedly dominating :::As :::Jd. Both players checked the :::9s :::3d :::Th flop, and Lightbourne then took it down with a bet on the :::7s turn.

Exhibit B:

Babis Lappas raised with :::Ad :::3d in the cutoff, but folded to a reraise from Lightbourne holding pocket eights in the small blind.

Exhibit C:

Lightbourne raised with :::5s :::6s in the hijack and Paulo Rodrigues called in the big blind holding :::Ad :::8d. They both checked the :::3s :::Js :::Th flop and Rodrigues checked the :::5d turn as well before folding to a bet from Lightbourne.

Our friend Mr. Lightbourne, whom you may recognise from his extremely respectable 22nd place finish in this year’s WSOP Main Event, is now in possession of over 5 million in chips – just shy of half the chips in play.
