Unibet Open releases full schedule for Bucharest

Festival running November 29 to December 3 at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel

 

London, UK – August 11, 2023 – Excitement is building as Unibet Open unveils a packed schedule for its upcoming event in Bucharest.

 

The festival, which is being run in conjunction with PokerFest Romania, is taking place at the luxury JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel in the heart of the Romanian capital. Mark your calendars from November 29 to December 3 for an unforgettable event. The flagship Main Event starts on November 30 and Unibet Open is anticipating record numbers for the €1,100 buy-in tournament.

 

As well as the €1,100 buy-in Main Event, other highlights of the festival include the €110 buy-in Ladies Event, the prestigious €2,200 High Roller, a €220 Pot Limit Omaha tournament, the €550 Unibet Chip Race Mystery Bounty event and several turbo tournaments. The five-day festival kicks off with the €330 Unibet Opener, which starts at 1pm on the first day.

 

The final day will be action-packed with the Main Event playing down to a champion alongside Day 3 of the Mystery Bounty, a €165 Mini Main Event and a final NLH hyper turbo. The Mini ME is a single re-entry tournament which will mirror the Main Event with all players receiving a generous 30,000 starting stack and 15-minute blind levels. Late registration is open until the start of Level 7.

 

The €1,100 Main Event features three start flights in total – Day 1a, Day 1b and a Day 1c turbo with 20-minute levels. All players receive a 30,000 starting stack and have a single re-entry option into Day 1c.

 

Bucharest holds fond memories for Unibet Ambassador Dara O’Kearney as it was at the Unibet Open Bucharest in 2017 that he and David Lappin kick-started their relationship with Unibet Poker. He said: “Bucharest, the Paris of the east, is one of my favourite places to play. It was in Bucharest six years ago that David and I started talking to Unibet about becoming ambassadors and it really is a beautiful city with warm, friendly people and great food.”

How to qualify
Prize packages worth €2,000 will be up for grabs during the qualification period for Unibet Open Bucharest. The packages will include the €1,100 Main Event buy-in, four nights’ accommodation at the Marriot Hotel for qualifier and guest plus €250 towards travel expenses. Feeder satellites will start on Unibet Poker from as little as one cent with five packages guaranteed in the weekly €250 qualifier to be held every Sunday. The first qualifier is on Sunday, May 28, and the last is set to take place on Sunday, November 19, just 11 days before the tournament start. There will also be live satellites held at the Marriott Hotel in the run-up to the festival.

All Unibet qualifiers will get a free dinner each night of the event, as well as must-have Unibet merchandise, the chance to mingle with Unibet Ambassadors and full access to the Welcome Drinks and Players Party.

Parties
Off the felt, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to have fun at Unibet Open Bucharest. Unibet will be hosting a Welcome drinks party at the Marriott at the start of the festival followed by the unmissable Unibet Players Party on the Saturday night.

Unibet Open Bucharest history
Anton Vinokurov took down the last Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event which was held in 2018. Vinokurov won a record first prize of €103,060 after beating a tough field of 592 entries. A total of 87 players got a share of the €592,000 prize pool.

The first-ever Unibet Open Bucharest was held in 2016. Local hero Traian Bostan beat the huge field of 603 players to take home a €100,000 top prize. In 2017, Romanian player Marius Pertea won the Main Event for €90,925.
