Longhe Sends Huysmans Home

The board read 9♣Q♠8♣T♥ and Arianne Huysmans (small blind) and Alexis Longhe (button) both had an all-in button in front of them. Yves De Jongh had a bet of 16,000 in front of him and was sitting in the tank as he held his head in his hands. After going through all his options in his head, he flung his hole cards into the muck.

“I have the nuts for now!” Longhe said to Huysmans.

“King-jack?” Huysmans asked and Longhe nodded and flipped over his cards.

Arianne Huysmans: A♣J♥
Alexis Longhe: K♦J♣

They had both turned a straight but Longhe’s straight was higher as he held the king. Huysmans was visibly unhappy and sighed loudly. She needed a king to split the pot but the 2♠ wasn’t that. The dealer counted out Longhe’s stack first and confirmed he had 93,000 in total in front of him. She then counted out Huysmans’ stack and confirmed she had just a bit below 90,000 and was eliminated for today. Longhe is now sitting on a stack of around 210,000.
