Jasper Meijer van Putten has hit the rail in shocking fashion in what must have been one of the most brutal bad beats of his career.
It was Kaarel Lepik who opened to 9,000 in middle position. Meijer van Putten three-bet to 23,000 from the cutoff, Lepik four-bet to 50,000 and Meijer van Putten called.
The flop was :::Ks:::Qs:::8h and Lepik checked. Meijer van Putten bet 35,000, Lepik check-raised all in and the EPT13 Prague champion snap-called his remaining 95,000 off.
Kaarel Lepik: :::As:::Kc
Jasper Meijer van Putten: :::Ah:::Ad
Meijer van Putten was in fantastic shape to scoop the nearly 400,000 pot. Lepik needed one of the kings or a miracle runner-runner to snatch it from the Dutchman. One of those backdoor draws opened up with the :::3s on the turn, giving Lepik a flush draw to go with his kings.
Sure enough, the river was the :::4s and Lepik improved to an improbable flush. The Estonian raked in the monster pot and Meijer van Putten was forced to the rail just before the money.
